16th Stromlo Running Festival

The Stromlo Running Festival, founded in 2009 by marathon legend Robert De Castella, is held annually at Stromlo Forest Park—one of Australia’s top off-road running and cycling venues. The event honours community resilience following Canberra’s 2003 bushfires and welcomes runners of all levels. Across two days, participants can choose from distances of 2.5 km (kids’ cross-country), 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 30 km, or a 42.2 km marathon. Set against stunning views of Canberra, Black Mountain Tower, and the Brindabella Ranges, the festival offers a chance to “get off the road” and embrace the spirit of adventure.
